Responsible for leading the implementation, maintenance, and interfacing with freight forwarders, brokers, U.S and Foreign governments, embassies and other export compliance-related third-party service providers to ensure compliance with procedures. Classify and assign Harmonized Tariff Codes to chemical / materials. • Renegotiate steamship rate contracts each quarter for cost savings opportunities. • Added software module to SAP for the screening of denied parties list. • Created and manage an Export and Import Compliance Manual • Trained various functional groups, including Legal, Customer Service, Logistics, Plant Personnel, Upper & Senior Management and IP / PPLP Regulatory to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment of priorities to business objectives. • Performed internal audits of export / import procedures and compliance. • Working experience in the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Commerce Control List (CCL), and Harmonized Schedule (HTS)/ Schedule B. • Managed the implementation across ICL’s US business locations for CT-PAT qualification. • Managed steamship line direct contracts and rate negotiations. • Managed NAFTA Compliance (includes supplying NAFTA and recordkeeping documentation). • Managed Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers across 6 business units. • Managed and implemented an Incoterms 2010 consolidations project across 6 business units, (merging existing and non-terms to the 11 international used terms) thus reducing the companies over all liability and risk. • Worked with IP & PPLP Regulatory Groups here in the US and abroad (Israel, Europe, and Germany) to ensure global compliance. • Managed TSCA (TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL ACT CERTIFICATION 19 CFR 12.121 - EPA) requests for imports) for IP and PPLP business units. Including reporting activities to the DEA for import and distribution on phosphorus material. • Consolidated Freight Forwarder/Customs Broker from five different business units to 2 and completed a year rate contract with estimated savings of 240K for 2009.
