Daily Duties at Sycamore Community Schools:
Summer School Director, 2004, 2005, 2006 Coordinated all aspects of the Summer School Program at the K-5 grade levels, leading team of 12 teachers, 6 paraprofessionals, and 1 administrative assistant. Hired staff, developed schedules, managed budget and payroll, and ordered supplies. Communicated with the administration, the Board of Education, Central Office personnel, parents, students, staff, and community members. Managed Special Education concerns. HIGHLIGHTS: Revamped and implemented the Summer School Program for Sycamore schools, grades K-4 that supported elementary curriculum in Reading/Language Arts and Math for grades K-5; students involved in the program gained at least 1 year’s growth as indicated on grade-level assessments. Introduced enrichment programs to offset program expenses, including Personal Computer Techniques and Fine Arts Program, with the initiatives adding to the Summer Program while offering district students extended learning opportunities.
