Daily Duties at Princeton City Schools:

Served as the academic leader of an urban Title I elementary school with 450 students and 53 faculty members, planning and directing all activities and events. Developed and implemented strategies for improving academic performance, behavior management, classroom instruction, and parental involvement utilizing data-driven decisions. Collaborated with team members at all levels to create a student-centered environment conducive to learning and achievement. Functioned as the key point-of-contact for community and media relations. Participated in the evaluation process for all employees within the school, preparing salary reviews for classified staff. Realigned curriculum and teaching methodologies, assisted in the redesign of instructional models, and enacted staff changes. Championed the use of instructional data to build appropriate practices. Leadership Background – Built a track record of meeting and exceeding goals as an academic leader, including dramatic improvements in student academic performance and classroom/campus behavior. Successful in mentoring, coaching, and motivating teachers, building partnerships with local businesses and community groups, and implementing a series of programs aimed at achieving academic excellence.  Turnaround Management – Drove substantial improvements as an inner-city Principal for a Title 1 school with a socio-economic population at a 98% poverty rate and in a state of Academic Emergency. Facilitated changes that reduced discipline referrals from 657 to 150 and decreased suspensions/expulsions by 68%.  Instructional Experience – Dedicated, passionate educator with experience in instruction at all grade levels, as well as developing curriculum and creating programs to enhance the learning experience for students from a broad range of life experiences and intellectual/emotional backgrounds.
