Daily Duties at Pacific Northwest National Lab:
• Hydrogen Storage Materials: Characterize thermal and dynamic mechanical properties of hydrogen storage materials; study the expoy composites with nanao-Si powder; large amount of use of Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA); investigate the flowability and and morphology of Ammonia Borane. Build up the library of material parameter for the issue of safety and transportability. • Nanocomposite/nano-ink: Exploit solution-based nanocomposite/nano-inks for photovoltaic assembly and Li-ion battery using combinatorial and high-throughput method. Synthesis the nano-ink solution, coating on Cu foil or making into paper electrode, assembly into Li cell or Mn cell, then test the cell performance. • Vanadium Redox Flow Battery: Investigate polymeric additives/surfactants to increase the solubility and stability of electrolyte. Design the elecrtode to increase the mass rtansfer to graphite fiber, and finally increase the cell efficiency.
