Blackhawk Station Work Values

Daily Duties at Blackhawk Station:

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility. Ensured environmental compliance at all times, and continuously monitored the status of all plant systems in support of generating electricity and providing process steam and condensate to the Conoco-Phillips WRB Refinery. Operated equipment safely with the goal of minimizing risk to personnel and machinery; and ensured that there were no NERC or EPA violationsAdhered to all safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out and the use of personal protective equipment. Generated accurate daily reports and made outside rounds which consisted of doing daily readings, checking water chemistry; and communicating any unusual readings to the inside operator. Worked with the following: power plant recorders and gauges, communications equipment, generators 10MW and larger, generator auxiliary electrical and mechanical support equipment, power transformers, power circuit breakers, pumps, compressors, electric motors, load and frequency controllers, MWH and KWH analog meters, and MWH and KWH digital meters, to name a few. Made recommendations to ensure that thermal and electrical outputs were at optimum levels of efficiency. Conducted periodic log and record reviews to assure that tag out procedures, equipment status and other work processes were functioning properly. Participated in the administrative maintenance of plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records, as directed.
