Daily Duties at Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation ("Fdic"):
Created and developed a fully functioning legal office. Equipped and supplied the office, hired and trained attorneys and support staff, provided leadership and direction where none had existed. Supported, guided and provided educational opportunities to staff. • Wrote and delivered complex legal opinions and managed a case load of complex and novel cases, providing sound legal advice to clients. Supervised and provided quality control assurance for the work of less experienced attorneys. • Directed outside counsel; educating them in the nuances of specialized laws and directives pertaining to the functioning of the F.D.I.C. • Developed new procedures and trained attorneys and support staff to provide legal supervision for the closing transactions for failed banks. • Managed a variety of transactions including the transition of assets to the acquiring bank; closing and paying off depositors, if no acquiring bank could be found; and marshalling the assets of the failed bank for ultimate liquidation.
