Daily Duties at Illinois State University:

I have the responsibility of teaching 5 different classes in the Safety Program. Health Sciences Department, College of Applied Sciences and Technology Train 200 students annually in occupational safety and health topics comprised of governmental policy, company policy development and research. Design and present curriculum on OSHA, EPA, DOT and other federal regulations as well as provide instruction on performing investigations and risk assessments. • Conducted instruction on 5 classes in Safety Program: Safety Technology, Hazardous Materials Regulations, OSHA Regulations, Safety in Society, and Aspects of Professional Safety Practice. • Served as Principal Investigator for research project, Undergraduate Psychosocial Issues in Professional Practice Assignments, designed to examine students’ occupational exposures to psychosocial issues and occupational injuries and illnesses. • Participated on key committees and groups: ISU Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Group; Health Sciences Social Committee; Health Sciences representative on College of Applied Science and Technology Council; primary advisory for Society of Women and Minorities in Health Sciences. • Advised federal agencies granting millions of dollars for research in public health. • Shaped occupational health public policy development to improve protection for vulnerable populations.
