Daily Duties at Trenton Times Newspaper:

• Created 8 (4 different pairs) of servers for Adtracker, & Asura programs and performed a roll-out of the programs for the Art and Advertising departments. • Migrated from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003. • Assisted in moving all Exchange and AD accounts to Star Ledger domain • Created TrackIt! Server to track IS inventory, software usage and licensing. • Maintained replication and different instances of Sequel Server. • Created Font server for MAC’s and setup Windows servers for MAC’s to have access to for file sharing. • Installed, developed schedules, and maintained tape backups using Backup Exec. 8.0-10.0 • Identified lack of security in PC and Macintosh computing environment. Created an Anti-virus server –E-Policy Orchestrator and checked & Deployed McAfee & Virex for anti-virus protection on all computers throughout the company. Reviewed and installed anti-spyware and advised users in safe computing. • Supported Atex mainframe connectivity and issues for Newsroom users and ensured continuous and efficient production operations. • Created and maintained desktops, user & computer accounts, groups, permissions & email in Active Directory. Setup all Outlook mailboxes for users. • Established company-wide IT security policy and facilitated secure connections to servers throughout using shares and permissions. • Installed a server for SW Patch management to scan for and install security patches onto computers. • Awarded promotion to Assistant Manager in 2005 while continuing to maintain IS Support responsibilities concurrently. • Supported approx. 200 users and administered 27 servers. • Maintained Sequel Server replication & backup. Also restored a deleted sequel Instance with assistance. • Use of SMS to remotely administer PC’s while working with the user. • Use of Carbon copy to clone Mac’s and put into production quickly. • Use of Ghost, Instate 6.0 and Restore Anywhere to image computers and install those images. • Participated in migration planning and procedures of email, domains and computers from hosting domain onto local domain and then onto merging company domain. Troubleshooting and resolving corrupt profiles, email and PC computing and Mac issues pertaining to those challenges. • Repaired and maintained PC’s, Laptops and Macintosh Operating Systems, Software & Hardware • Utilized Admin tools & protocols such as: DNS, WINS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SMS, Wynternals, System Works, Norton Utilities, SMTP, file restores, etc. • Interacted with all levels of Executives, Department Directors & Managers to determine computer needs and implementations. • On-call 24/7.
