Daily Duties at Baker Engineering:

I WAS PART OF AN ENGINEERING-CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT WORK FORCE THAT WERE PURELY CONTRACT EMPLOYEES OF THREE JOINT-VENTURED ENGINEERING COMPANIES WHICH WERE HIRED TO SUPPLEMENT THE ENGINEERING STAFF OF THE U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS' THAT WERE PERFORMING RECONSTRUCTION EFFORTS IN IRAQ. MY DAILY TASKS WERE RECEIVING DESIGN-BUILD PLANS, PRODUCT SUBMITTALS, SCHEDULES, INVOICES AND DAILY PROGRESS REPORTS FROM WORKING IRAQI CONTRACTORS, AND TO RECEIVE AND TAKE ACTION INTO THESE DOCUMENTS, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE QUALITY ASSURANCE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS IN PROGRESS. AT TIMES I WOULD MEET WITH THE IRAQI CONTRACTORS, EITHER AT OUR SECURELY GUARDED COMPOUND OR ON THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SITE. I WOULD RECORD AND TRANSMIT DAILY PROGRESS OF THESE PROJECTS INTO THE U.S.A.C.E. RESIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (RMS) FOR INFORMATION SHARING AND SCRUTINY BY OTHERS AT THE CENTRAL BASE HEADQUARTERS.
