Unit experience: ICU, Medical Surgical Primary responsibilities include: monitor and record patient vital signs; conduct frequent patient evaluations to include physical, mental and emotional status, place patients on telemetry and monitor for cardiac changes; conduct EKG’s; assists the code team; monitor and record I and O’s; collect, record and send specimens; collect and record glucose levels; provide skin care, sterile dressing changes, catheter insertion/removal and postmortem care. Organize and prioritize patient needs and assist the healthcare team. Apply the skills and knowledge necessary to provide support to patients and their family. Perform Unit Coordinator activities including order entry, inventory audit and requisition, patient discharge coordination.
