Daily Duties at Rapid City Ymca:

I was a lifeguard for the YMCA's three swimming pools. This included supervising children from the age of newborn to 16 both as they swam and while they were in the pool area in general. Communication was always key and I took great pride in taking an active role speaking to my other lifeguards and coordinating which areas of the pool My job also included conducting safety inspections of the pool before I opened it in the morning, and ensuring our safety checklist was completed before I closed the pool at night. I would also pick up exercise equipment for the participants in a special arthritis exercise class, so our elderly members would not accidentally trip on the equipment.

What they like about Rapid City Ymca:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
