Daily Duties at Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications:
Recruited by region president to build and lead a centralized corporate communications department to reposition Sony Ericsson in one of the company’s most critical markets worldwide. This role was multifaceted as the need was great – shortly before I arrived, Sony Ericsson lost a critical US customer and shut down its CDMA division which resulted in about 2,500 employees losing their jobs. (At the time, CDMA represents about 55% of the US wireless market). Shortly after I arrived, the North President terminated most of the marketing department.
What they like about Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications:
The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
