Daily Duties at Kota Tv:

I relied on my strong shooting, editing, writing, and producing skills each weekend as a "one-man-band" sports solo-reporter and anchor, utilizing both linear and non-linear editing systems. I took advantage of our social media sites and website to post stories and cultivate viewer feedback. For both my work with sports and as our weekday news reporter for our daily newscasts, I generated my own story ideas and I reported live on location, often acting as my own live gear operator. I would write multiple packages on deadline, rely on my strong ad-lib skills and even anchor sportscasts on live location at sporting events. I have a strong knowledge of the inner workings of local sports teams including college, professional, and prep professional leagues. I would nurture professional relationships with coaches, athletes, administrators and their representatives in order to assist in breaking stories. I was in charge of our weekly "Athlete of the Week" and "Facebook Friday" franchises as well as a sports podcast. I wrote AP-style web content and posted daily content to our Facebook fan page, Twitter account, and blog. Although I was asked to stay, I left when my contract expired in order to pursue work closer to my extended family with more broadcasting opportunities.
