Daily Duties at Ppl:

 Assume responsibility in a team environment protecting company assets as well as protection of the public.  Mentoring and integrating new employees for positions within the security organization to ensure plant staff’s compliance with all security procedures.  Supervisory experience overseeing new hires until progressive requirements have been achieved.  Supervised site preparedness and response to emergency situational drills as directed by the NRC as part of exercises to ensure defense in depth of security personnel, working hand in hand with the Department of Energy.  Training of peers on computer systems used by the organization (HRPR, NIMS, and DSS).  Member of First Aid team, responding to all first aid emergencies.  Maintain and promote a safety conscious work environment through analysis of current design and recommend improvements as necessary.  Provide customer service throughout the site, interacting with various workgroups, acting and reacting to various situations as they arise with both Visitors and site personnel.  Determine and prioritize activities to maintain effective day to day operations.  Presentations to temp hires to fulfill workforce requirements.  Maintained security equipment to ensure its operability in day to day operations and for emergency situations.  Root Cause analysis and investigation.  Scheduling of manpower according to shift requirements including overtime as necessary.  Maintain a policy of chain of command for reporting issues and ideas related to the organization.  Participated in the development of site branding for new initiatives.  Maintain inventories of all equipment used in the security organization.  Loss Prevention initiatives through various observation and search techniques.
