Daily Duties at Future Scripts/Catalyst Rx:

I effected the complete overhaul of the prior authorization (PA) process to reduce CatalystRx's overhead costs by 2 million dollars for the fiscal year 2011. I worked as the medical expert for our client, IBC, to create a transgender benefit (only available that could be offered to their members for a cost-specific rider.I worked with the pharmacy and therapeutics committee to put together a national formulary which was the basis of drugs for all or our clients' members. It was my vision to make a list of clinical initiatives that included the highest utilization drugs for our clients and implemented them one by one, the plan being to introduce these criteria over a 2 year period of time. My program to cut the costs of the highest utilization drugs saved our largest client at least 10 million dollars of expenditures they would have otherwise had to pay on behalf of their members to pharmacies. The Chief Medical Officer and I met with the CEO periodically to talk about the company's business plan for mergers and acquisitions and how to handle the rapid growth that these acquisitions brought to CatalystRx. I trained and managed the 60 people who were involved in the PA process and created the annual compliance training that was required by law to keep them current with state and federal statutes.
