Daily Duties at Tenet Healthcare System:

I was responsible for all the OB/GYN personnel in the hospital and the 2 large out-patient clinics associated with the hospital and the union of city workers (District Council 33) that were cared for entirely in these facilities. I appointed staff, recruited 4 physicians and 6 nurses and also eliminated personnel whose conduct did not meet the standards of practice that I had created. I proposed creating a comprehensive women's healthcare centers at each of our 2 locations. The CEO of Tenet approved the concept and allocated 3 million dollars which was the approximate cost of each comprehensive women's health center. I identified what specific pieces of equipment I needed in order to deliver state-of-the-art healthcare and supervised the purchase and placement of each item. The staff (nurses, medical assistants and physician assistants) were hand selected and their policy and procedure manuals were created by me. The creation of these centers and the streamlining of the medical staff added an additional 4 and 1/2 million dollars of revenue to the Departments of OB/GYN at the 2 hospitals in which I was the Departmental Chairperson.

You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
