Daily Duties at Bristol Mayer Squibb, Pharmaceuticals :
• This was a company with seven main facilities: two pharmaceutical plants, two chemical plants, one water-treatment plants and a very large utility farm, maintenance building and operation building. This operation was 24/7. • Accountable of all continuous operations under all Federal and Local laws of the facilities systems as: manufacturing support equipments (Boilers, clean air systems, vacuum systems, air conditioning systems, purification water-systems etc.) and general safety equipment ( fire suppressors systems, mechanical-rooms, chillers, electrical, plumbing, and power generators) • Responsible for the Facilities Conditions Program and the Preventive Maintenance Program including schedules. • Responsible of projects necessary in order to keep the facilities in good condition, such as refurbish, constructions, demolition and disposal. • Responsible of all proposal developments for all facilities and equipments, including coordinating initial meetings thru the final and closing meetings for each project, internal or with outside contractors. • Responsible, for the completion of the Preventive Maintenance Schedule every month to be 100%. • Exercised full range supervision, of day-to-day activities of the staff, including distribution of workload, personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing work of subordinate staff and in the development and execution of short and long range goals and objectives always giving emphasis to the Safety First, OSHA, SOP’s and CGMP’s. • Direct staff consists of four (4) Stock-room personnel, one Group Leader and three Stock-room Attendants, four Facility Technicians, two Plumbers, and two Painters, and a group of outside contractor Mechanics, Electricians according to project needs. • Develop performance standards and rate employees. Interview candidates for subordinate positions and recommend hiring, promotions, or reassignments. • Overall responsibility for the company stock room (supply) operations and inventory. • Overall responsibility for the Planning and Schedules Section for the maintenance department. • Also responsible for Surplus Equipment and the implementation of disposal guidance according to Federal laws. • Management of all utility, manufacturing, and electrical and mechanical projects of less than two million dollars.
