Daily Duties at Cook's Children Medical Healthcare Center:
As a staff nurse, I cared for 4-8 patients, which would include D/C's & ADM's. I did all care, medication delivery, IV starts,GB feeds,DSG's, trach care, Diabetic Teaching, specimen collections, straight caths, Hyperal & Lipids delivery, Chemotherapy, Femur traction, assist Dr's with Spinal Taps, Bone Marrow Retreival. As relief charge nurse, I ran the floor,which included transcribing Dr's orders, calling Dr's when necessary, checking each pt's room for proper bedding per age, medical equipment present per pt diagnosis, assignments, bed-control meeting, assist at front desk with phones, call bells, etc.
