Daily Duties at Jefferson County Commission/Dba Cooper Green Mercy Hospital:
Maximizes the receipt of justified resources through the budgetary process Manages all phases of budget execution, funds control, and accounting for receipts and expenditures Assign, coordinate, and review the work of Accounting Department Develop and manage a strategic planning process that yields a strategic plan that guides management and resource allocation decisions Manages all matters pertaining to the preparation of the hospital’s bi-weekly payroll and processes commercial invoices and employee’s travel Provides program management for hospital’s contracts assigned to the procurement/purchasing department Maintain set of accounts including subsidiary fixed assets, general ledger, budgetary, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and control accounts. Prepare appropriate entries and prepares necessary reports relating to account status Performs analytical assignments including checking accuracy of entries and examining routine accounting documents Prepares financial statements for internal use and public distribution and assist in budget preparation Cooperates with external auditors and government officials; compile information to be used in audits and actuarial studies Ensures compliance with various laws, accounting and procurement regulations, and oversight guidance Develop, review and recommend changes to accounting policies and procedures
