Daily Duties at Baltimore City Department Of Social Services:

Supervised six case workers five of whom are masters-prepared. Managed, coordinated and monitored the work that the Case Workers did including determining that all children on each worker's case load was visited each month and that their basic needs were being met in the placement in which the agency had placed them. Consulted with workers regarding their progress in keeping the children in their care in safe, stable placement and that they were making every effort to find a permanent home. Reviewed and approved expenditures for the benefit of the children and their families as appropriate. When the worker was not available, I have been prepared to testify in Juvenile Court as to the quality of the placement, the child's progress in care and sometimes testify as to why the agency believed that the birth parent's Parental Rights should or should not be terminated. The total number of cases for which I was responsible ranged from 90 to 140. When the worker was not available, I worked with attorneys from the Agency in preparing status reports on each child every six months. Reviewed both hard copies and electronic case records with each worker twice per month.
