Reviewed the Sales and Use Tax returns filed by businesses and individuals that were flagged by the Department of Taxation and Finance for audit. • Maintained up-to-date knowledge of NY Sales Tax laws, regulations, court decisions, proposed changes and other current tax issues. • Reviewed sales, capital purchases and other contracts to determine the accurate taxability of each transaction. • Employed the use of tax matrices to accurately capture and report tax liabilities. • Completed day-to-day financial management activities, including generation of monthly reports, issue resolution, and process improvement recommendation reporting. • Performed various ad hoc analyses/reports that require partnering with clients on the research of possible tax benefits or issues, and application of tax rate changes, existing laws and regulations.
