Oversaw all general accounting functions for a leading regional construction company. Directed and trained a team of 6 accounting employees. • Managed sales and service transactional AP/AR, general ledger postings, payroll, work in process and account reconciliations; reviewed and approved all inventory entries. • Analyzed financial data and completed month-end and year-end closing reports as well as variance analyses. • Developed ad hoc analyses in multi-channel profitability reporting system, ensuring accurate and timely maintenance and implementation of budget and forecast revisions. • Directed external auditors throughout the year, effectively supporting and adjusting audited footnotes. • Ensured regulatory compliance by completing thorough data analysis, testing, and reporting; evaluated risk and control environments, including financial reporting risks, and made reporting recommendations for ongoing compliance. • Prepared all Sales and Use tax filings, as well as payroll tax and workers' compensation returns.
