Daily Duties at Lowell Community Charter Public School:

Overseeing the quality of health care provided to students. Purchasing appropriate equipment so that quality assessments could be performed. Supervising a part-time LPN who resisted all changes I made, as well as 2-3 ancillary staff. Assessed and documented students vital signs, medication teaching,, providing first aid and emergency care. Taught staff how to respond to medical emergencies. Teaching the medical assistant I had my supervisor hire the computer software as well as the tasks that needed to be completed. I was also a preceptor for LPN and BS/RN students. Followed M.D. orders, educated students about medication regimen and also discussed healthy habits. Addressed psycho-social issues of students, and had to set firm, consistent ,limits, on students who believed they could choose their care options.
