Daily Duties at Us Treasury:
Responsible for serving as a Customer Service Representative and member of the Telephone team in the Treasury Offset Section as it relates to debt management. Responsible for providing procedural and routine technical responses to inquiries by telephone and through written correspondence, to delinquent debts owed to the Federal Government or to a state (e.g. delinquent child support). Responsible for analyzing correspondence received from debtors, preparing written responses, and providing direct responses to inquiries related to the offsetting of Federal payments. Responsible for assisting debtors and agencies by explaining the provisions of the Debt Collection Improvement Act, researching payments, offsets, and claims and documenting contacts as required.
