Daily Duties at Us Postal Service:

Responsible for performing internal/external placement duties, including carrying out special placement activities and providing interpretation and assistance on the agency and local Merit Promotion program for organizations/services that typically generate difficult problems due to complex structure and various hiring authorities. Responsible for providing advisory services on recruitment and placement actions requiring identification and analysis of management staffing problems, and development of solutions considering the total personnel management viewpoint. Responsible for exercising persuasiveness, imagination and insight in preparing and presenting recommendations to management. Responsible for advising management on recruitment strategies, sources and special programs. Responsible for assisting managers/supervisors with developing crediting plans. Responsible for assisting in developing short and long range staffing plans and providing advice to managers/supervisors on future staffing strategies. Responsible for planning, initiating and/or conducting (Recruitment and Placement) program surveys, studies or evaluations for the facility. Responsible for participating as an advisor and consultant to management officials regarding staffing issues. Responsible for conducting and scheduling new hire orientations, providing an overview of the benefit programs and the enrollment procedures. Responsible for assisting in the communication of benefit plan changes, conducting open enrollment meetings and preparing reports/presentations. Responsible for coordinating and administering benefit insurance programs including medical, dental, life and vision and disability. Responsible for processing all benefit events, COBRA applications/enrollments. Responsible for providing advice on pay administration as well as training to management and employees regarding internal and external hiring, application procedures, general knowledge of laws, regulations and placement functions
