Daily Duties at Aegon Usa:

Scope of responsibilities was diverse and included: analyzed underlying assets of (passive) buy and hold contracts with portfolio worth over $60 billion. Managed synthetic Guaranteed Investment Contracts (GIC) contracts. •Determined and applied appropriate credit rate to ensure correct book and market value convergence at the end of the contract. •Passive (buy and hold) contracts—analyzed all passive securities for excessive volatility and prepay speed changes and initiated resetting crediting rates based on valuation. •Active Contracts—reviewed investment managers portfolio reports in order to determine compliance to contractual investment guidelines including: identifying potential compliance issues, escalating issues to pension and Savings and Actuarial. Implemented special review procedures for complex and high risk portfolios. •Monitored and analyzed rate changes based on portfolio’s performance over the reset period, market movements and trends, applicable value, duration and yield changes.
