Daily Duties at Md Anderson Cancer Center:

Members Services Representative • Contacting and educating both physicians and patients about the M. D. Anderson Cancer Manager program • Transition of newly enrolled patients to in-network providers for treatment and/or follow-up • Facilitation of initial appointments at MDACC or with M. D. Anderson Network physicians for newly diagnosed patients and patients transitioning from out of network providers • Effectively translating often-complex medical information to appeal to both the layman and sophisticated professional – physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers – building long-term relationships • Keeping pace with market trends, conditions, and the competition for maximum results; successfully introducing new concepts; quickly eclipsing challenges; staying well informed on various diseases and treatments • Work with case managers to ensure that patient receives timely and appropriate care Patient Service Coordinator • Scheduling of all diagnostic procedures for MDACC patients and maintenance of all scheduling resources for the Diagnostic Imaging dept • Worked as part of a multi-disciplinary project improvement team to identify existing roadblocks and improve patient access in the CT Department and special procedures department • Active participant in DI’s quality improvement program via GE’s Six Sigma o Participated in overall workflow analysis and process re-engineering o Responsible for scheduling workflow analysis and process re-engineering o Developed, built and maintained the CT scheduling templates o Developed the materials utilized in training all MDACC clinic staff in the new CT scheduling system … • Responsible for the training of all new hires and the development of training materials for all areas of DI (CT, MRI, x-ray, etc…)
