Houston Cancer Institute Work Values

Daily Duties at Houston Cancer Institute:

Administer chemotherapy via central lines, ports or PICC lines. IV infusions for antibiotics or hydration as per orders. Central line or Picc line care as scheduled. Subcutaneous injections: Neupogen. IM injections: Flu shots. Phlebotomy: CBC, Chemistries. Assist with Bone Marrow aspiration procedures. Coordinate clinic activities with Clinical Coordinator for multi-site practice(Cy-Fair, Cleveland,Tx, Baytown, Tx, Spring, Tx). Monitor patients for adverse side effects of chemotherapy and implement interventions per physician orders. Document care in patient care record. Update nursing skills as required. Educate patient/families regarding their treatments and self-care in Englis or Spanish.
