Daily Duties at Visiting Nurse Service Of Ny:
Assess patient's status, obtain vital signs, administer medications & injections, monitor blood glucose & weights per MD order, instruct in disease process & management, provide emotional support to patient's & families, act as a liaison between patient & MD & other disciplines. Perform wound care & assess for s/s of infection. Start or discontinue foley catheters, straight cath for urine. Assess G-tube sites & instruct family. Administer G-tube feedings.
