Daily Duties at National Coalition On Health Care:

• Advocated on behalf of Coalition priorities to Congressional staff on legislative, budgetary and administrative issues relating to health system cost containment and sustainability. • Acted as primary staff on economic health policy issues of interest to the Coalition; including specific comparative studies and reports issued. • Worked with local, state, and national advocates, service providers, labor unions, and government officials to develop consensus policies and strategies. • Researched and wrote fact sheets, memos, and articles for audiences of varied backgrounds. • Provided technical assistance on economic health policy issues (including but not limited to those affecting vulnerable populations, such as those with chronic diseases or disabilities, immigrant families, children, etc.) to member organizations, advocates, business groups, community and union organizers, and the general public while also serving as a resource to these groups and the media. • Prepared website digest summaries regarding legislative proposals, proposed rules, or court decisions relating to NCHC interests. • Attended hearings related to health system reform and prepared memos and economic rationales in support of policy options. • Developed and executed strategic policy surrounding health care costs. • Attended special meetings and conferences on health care issues and developed reports for the Coalition team. • Assisted the CAO with financial work related to operating a non-profit organization according to best practices.
