Research in biochemistry lab studying the structure and function of chemokines in human disease. Activities include: growth and expression of various chemokines and chemokine inhibitors for use in cell based assays; design and production of expression constructs for tagged chemokine receptors CXCR4 and CXCR7 and transfection into mammalian breast cancer cell lines; injection of cell lines into mouse mammary tissue for the induction of tumors and analysis of chemokine overexpression in this mouse model.
