Daily Duties at Texas Department Of Human Services:
Developed and implemented special projects for regional and statewide use. Traveled throughout the region (67,000 square mile area) to provide staff training pertaining to special projects and complete or monitor special projects. Managed security access for regionally automation systems and completed periodic audits to assure proper assignment. Supervised six employees: 3 System Support Specialist-data entry, statistical reports and project development / support, 2 programmers, and 1 software trainer (Word, Excel and Outlook). Held monthly conferences with each employee to discuss performance, workload, project status and issues the employee wished to discuss. Completed job postings, screened applications, conducted interviews and selected new employees for job vacancies as they arose. Completed on-boarding processes for new employees. Maintained current knowledge of program policies and procedures to assist with policy interpretation as required during implementation of projects. Developed policies and procedures for regionally developed projects. Coordinated and issued requests to purchase non-automation equipment for two divisions in the Region. Managed setup and implementation for two major technology projects: Electronic Benefit Transfer and Lone Start Imaging System. Managed a stand-alone programming unit to develop programs for staff use to build client records on desired services and delivery of those services. Established and maintained positive rapport with regional staff and administration as well as central office staff in multiple divisions which facilitated implementation of projects. Consistently received commendation from regional administration and central office staff for work ethic and project quality developed by our team. Reviewed statistical reports prior to publication to validate data. Conducted training for all special projects as required for the project. Conducted software training for Word, Excel, and Outlook users in the absence of the software trainer or high demand for training.
