Daily Duties at Merrill Lynch Bank Usa:

As a Loan Operations Manager was responsible for all the operational related activities for both the individual and corporate client loans. My responsibilities include but were not limited to the following: • Creation and management of a team that extracted and created new loan commitments for the Bank. These loans were initially securities based loans that originated with Merrill Lynch Financial Advisors and individual loan officers in the Bank and then expanded to include a new lending program comprising of commercial and corporate loans. • Managed an internal team together with parent company colleagues and outside advisors (IBM) to implement a new loan system (Loan IQ). This system allowed the Bank to have a single streamlined system to manage all of the Bank’s lending activities and greatly improved the ability of the Bank to take on more business and become more efficient and profitable. • Managed a team that was responsible for all disbursements of loan proceeds and the receipt of repayments, interest and fees for all loan portfolios. • Initially and then on an ongoing basis, developed and improved policies and procedures and process flows for the loan operations group within the Bank. • Managed all internal and external audit activities for the loan operations group. Developed and implemented best practices derived from audit concerns as well as internal discussion and considerations. • Managed internal and external relationships with loan originations, legal, compliance, finance & accounting departments and senior management.
