Daily Duties at State Of Ohio Department Of Developmental Disabilities:

 Provided technical assistance to developmental centers and central office regarding interpretation of laws, rules and directives (e.g., civil service laws, collective bargaining agreements, ODAS policies and procedures, MR/DD policies and procedures).  Executed human resources activities; ensuring accurate classification and compensation allocation  Conducted extensive statistical gathering and regression analysis; providing critical information to support and design succession planning strategies and program development  Heavily involved with recruiting and hiring decisions; partnering with over 50 department heads to understand and identify talent needs, organize appropriate job descriptions, and define hard/soft skills needed for each business unit’s unique needs.  Managed full-cycle recruiting process for 50-100 concurrently opened positions, both bargaining unit and exempt, spanning superintendents, doctors, nurses, dentists, psychiatrists, police officers, social workers, and administrative personnel.  Partnered with department heads to develop and execute national recruitment strategies for hard-to-fill management positions.  Managed and coordinated all central office recruitment activities including application profiling, phone screening, structured interviewing, candidate scoring, background checks, reference checks, approval process, rigid documentation, and offer extension; consistently ensuring strict adherence to bargaining unit and state/federal regulations and structure.  Facilitated new hire orientation, training & development, and performance management for both bargaining unit and exempt employees.  Conducted small-group session training and ongoing mentoring to staff; educating associates on various human resources topics.
