Daily Duties at Health Research, Inc. (Nys Dept Of Health):
Responsible for maintaining the serum trace elements/research laboratory: -Routine operation and maintenance of a PerkinElmer Elan DRC II ICP-MS -Preparation of human serum for distribution in the NYS proficiency testing (PT) program -Successful performance in external proficiency testing programs for trace element measurements in serum -Development and validation of new methods for biomonitoring research studies and PT programs, including trace element measurements in clinical matrices (serum, follicular fluid, seminal fluid, tissues), using inductively coupled plasma – mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and sector field (SF)-ICP-MS -Assisting students with research projects, including directing and managing a student’s lab rotation -Publishing research in peer-reviewed journals -Interviewing prospective employees as part of a three-person hiring committee
