The research project focused on studying the regulation of the heme biosynthetic pathway. Responsible for the development of mutant strains of Escherichia coli. The techniques that were employed included maintaining cell cultures, aseptic transfers, P1 transductions, transformation via electroporation, plasmid isolation, protein extraction, DNA purification, restriction enzyme digestion, gel electrophoresis, and UV-spectroscopy. Used sterile techniques make media and a variety of solutions.
