Daily Duties at Franklin Bank:

The primary responsibilities were to originate and maintain a portfolio of commercial loans to small businesses and commercial real estate loans to real estate owners and developers along with cross selling deposit and cash management accounts to these borrowers. I was responsible for building a portfolio by networking with circles of influence and building relationships with internal bank personnel. I called on new prospects and referral sources to obtain new loan requests, obtained the financial information on the proposed borrower and guarantor and the project, prepared the credit request including the loan amount, pricing and loan structure and proposed collateral and presented the loan request to the bank's appropriate loan committee(s). I was responsible for leading the loan closing process and insuring that the loan was closed in conformance with the loan approval. I was responsbile for the maintenance of the existing loan portfolio which included obtaining loan payments on a timely basis, making periodic client calls, writing memos to the file, assisting in the collection of updated financial information, making sure the collateral for the loan was properly protected with insurance coverage and was kept in good condition, reviewing overdraft and uncollected reports on a daily basis, and participating in loan reviews of the loans to evaluate loan quality. I also had responsibility for the bank's REO portfolio of loans which included speaking and meeting with interested purchasers, negotiating a proposed sale of the property, and reporting on the status of the portfolio to senior management.

What they like about Franklin Bank:

Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
