*Perform fundamental scientific research: Neuroscience of obesity. *Assist with development of research programs (grant renewals and management) *Interface with university administrative staff *Recruit, hire, train and supervise postdoctoral researchers, students, technicians *Review and edit manuscripts for publication *Ad Hoc referee: Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine *Guest lectures (graduate student courses: Functional Neuroanatomy, Survival Skills in Academia) *Wrote animal use protocols and amendments in accordance with University Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) specifications and Federal USDA and PHS guidelines *Serve as institutional memory of the laboratory and all aspects of its operations (e.g., generate and troubleshoot assay protocols, maintenance of equipment and instruments) *Quality control and compliance of laboratory procedures and regulations
