Daily Duties at Home Quarters:

Home quarters was a 1.5 Billion dollar company and I was responsible for the transportation needs of all 61 stores, the division and corporate facilities. Negotiated contracts with trucking companies, steamship lines, supervised import & domestic transportation operations, and payment of all transportation cost, incurred. provided coordination between vendors and store associates to insure that the appropriate merchandise got to the appropriate location in a timely manner. Complied with Department of Transportation regulations and the proper handling of hazardous materials. Prepared manuals and standard operating procedures. investigated lost and damaged merchandise and took appropriate actions depending upon the situation. Responsible for purchasing equipment and materials for the stores as well as the accounting and inventory control of this merchandise
