Daily Duties at Alpha Wire Company:

Unloading trucks and inspecting materials received. If there are any damaged goods then the appropriate corrective action would take place. In either rejecting the material or being credited for damaged material that can still be used. Also documenting the reasons why the material in defective based on the requirements in running such materials. Placing raw material into assigned locations physically and then manually through computer transactions. The transferring of materials out to the floor to work station locations as needed. Returning stock items back into the warehouse when jobs are complete and back flushing to ensure that quantity requirements have been issued evenly based on materials used. Computer generated random daily cycle counts are also performed in order to assist with maintaining location/material accuracy. Making sure deposits are palletized, strapped, wrapped and all shipping authorization forms are complete to notify vendors of deposit returns. Making sure any qchold returns are brought to the return hold area in the warehouse with any RMA’s. Once material is returned, a computer transaction takes place reversing amounts in the system so that the proper credit can take place. Fill in for the traffic coordinator/ shipper when he is not present – absent/vacation. Packaging, labeling, using the RF system (scanning with a gun) wrapping skids, weighing them, calling trucks, filling out packing slips/bill of ladings and loading trucks.
