Daily Duties at Berkshire Health Systems/Fairview Hospital:
Day to day working with multi-disciplinary team of healthcare providers and administrators. Knowledge of HIPPA Compliance, Medicare and Medicaid, private insurance carriors, managed care, patient utilization, financial counseling including budgeting payment plans for outstanding hospital bills; with revenue cycle, medical diagnostic coding. Responsible for operation of admitting department during evening and weekend hours. Responsible for overseeing smooth operation of department - workflow, completion of assignments, facilitation of admitting patients in timely manner;responsible for calling and identifying emergency codes for staff, patients, and visitors - securing building for public safety. Liason to emergency room.
