Daily Duties at Prision Health Services:

Functioned as Human Resources Administrative Assistant supporting staff of 20. Input and updated information on HR database via Lawson HRIS system including new hires, termination and employee initiated data changes. Placed ads for job openings, scheduled interviews for potential new hires, prepared personnel action forms and provided orientation to new employees. Assisted with explanation of forms, such the 401k, W4, health benefits, direct deposit forms, and new IDs. Coordinated open enrollment orientation for employees regarding benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. Created employee picture ID on ID Card Maker. Distributed employee annual performance evaluations to various departments for completion and served as liaison for tracking leave of absence to comply with Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Assisted in the screening of more than 50 new applicants for the Technician and Secretarial positions in the pharmacy department each year. On a weekly basis processed payroll on the KRONOS system and close reports for the pay periods. Organized checks for distribution to staff on bi-weekly basis, and created pharmacists’ work schedule including days off, holidays and vacations. Created and maintained Performance and Quality Assurance statistics for Department of Health and Department of Corrections and Executive offices. Obtained suicide attempts reports, HIV and psychological statistics on ALPHA/HBOC database for NYC prison system, including: incidents reports, medication taken and health reports on prisoners. Processed data reports for NYC Department of Corrections on a monthly basis. Coordinated, organized and attended teleconferences/lectures/Medical Rounds for medical staff. Interacted with Deputy Warden to obtain authorized visitor clearance forms for civilian appointments on Rikers Island. Served as liaison to healthcare representatives from pharmaceutical companies to set up lectures and meetings with health care providers. Setup continuing medical education (CME) for 75 pharmacist and created certificates from approved CME. Developed MS Word mail mergers for distribution of memoranda, meeting packages and/or flyers. Prepared and circulated memoranda/flyers on MSWord and/or MS PowerPoint to various departments. Coordinated employee recognition ceremonies for the departments annually.
