Served as Office Manager and Secretary for Nursing Department ensuring that daily work was operational and organized. Ensured that more than 80 employee files were updated and accurate. Revised policies and procedures in MS word for manuals to ensure protocols were followed. Hired Unit Receptionist for units and supervised unit reception daily activities, assisting with any supplies or problems on units. Prepared orientation package for up to 10 new employees each month, and scheduled orientation with the education department. Created salary action forms for employee increases, New York State Nursing Association (NYSNA) on Office of the Professionals status change, and new employees. Organized monthly in-services and Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/ACLS) classes for the healthcare providers in the hospital. Managed expired registration, BCLS/ACLS certificates and annual evaluations. Managed the outsourcing of hospital escorts to court, probation officers and rehabilitation centers. Checked healthcare providers license status on NYS Office of Verification website to ensure validity of license. In preparing for various inspections reviewed patients’ charts, forms, and progress notes with Director for compliance with Joint Commission and Department of Health criteria and to ensure patient safety. Developed graphs and statistical outcomes for various performance indicators and quality assurance, each indicator was followed with an action plan. Created bi-weekly schedules for 80 nursing staff for their daily work locations and scheduled days off.
