Daily Duties at Kings Harbor Multicare Center:
The following are core activities: Appraise the pharmacy systems to propose approaches for prescribing, dispensing, delivering, storing, administering and monitoring medications. Carry out medication pass observation and nursing unit inspection. Correct and document irregularities. Reinforce use of best practice guidelines to institute appropriate pharmacy structure. Maintain surveillance of medication processes that may incorporate examples that are listed below: 1. Creation and execution of policies and plans, incorporating procedures for controlled substances. 2.Drug regimen review, monitoring and recommendations. 3. Participate indirectly with Interdisciplinary Care Plan (IDCP) team and process impvement activities 4. Inspection of medication storage areas and recommendations. 5.Staff training and monitoring of nursing and medical staff achievement standards. 6. Serve as an active member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Infection Control Committee, and Quality Improvement Committee. 7. Act as a resource for medication management systems.
