They were successfully developed the most challenging stereocontrolled anomeric glycosylation on 2-deoxysugars using Ni based catalysts. It is highly challenging accomplishment, because the non-availability of the neighboring group participation from substituents at C-2, enhanced conformational flexibility, lack of anchimeric assistance, glycosylation of 2-deoxy sugars always lead to the mixture of α/β mixtures. She developed various glycosyl donors. The glycosylation of these donors with glycosyl acceptors in presence of Ni catalysts and chiral thioureas resulted in 7:1 and 6:1= α/β anomers respectively. It is very challenging and difficult and one has to be an exceptionally gifted researcher to discover efficient catalysts and most appropriate glycosyl donor to afford high enantioselectivity in the glycosylation. Natural products such as anthracycline, aureolic acid and durhamycin contain 2-deoxy sugars as the integral part exhibit antibiotic and antitumor activity. This area of supramolecules focused on the Synthesis and Characterization of TEMPO-spin label functionalized G4-PAPAM dendrimers keeping their applications as increased water solubility and flux across the skin of Dimethoxycurcumin, Indomethacin as dendrimer complex, dendrimers as multifunctional pharmaceutical nano carriers, synthesis of combinatorial libraries, dendrimer ILs as conductive polymers, biosensors, site targeted drug delivery and Controlled drug release. Synthesis of TEMPO-spin label functionalized G4-PAPAM dendrimers by introduction of specific chemical functions in these supramolecules under dark conditions. There have been numerous attempts by highly competent scientists to explore this area and to gain a fundamental understanding of these processes and their applications in various fields. The synthetic modifications on the functionalization of G4-PAMAM dendrimers allow it to be exploited as site targeted drug delivery systems, chemosensors for heavy metals and anions. These studies are extremely important and enlightening as it provides researchers with a high level of understanding of the influence of molecular structures. In terms of determining the optimized design of supramolecular structure, Dr. Umadevi Bhoga’s innovative approaches will advance overcoming the limitations in the introduction of novel physical properties to these materials in terms of their bio-availability, solubility etc at molecular level.
