Daily Duties at Booz Allen Hamilton:

Began a consulting career as a facility management consultant and CAD architect for the conceptual design through design development phases of the construction of a factory to manufacture commercial aircraft in Italy. Designed using AutoCAD, this facility provided a "greenfield" approach to manufacturing, from machining through final assembly and was a show case for state-of-the-art manufacturing practices and operations management. Following this two year engagement, returned stateside to assist with the growth and development of the fledgling Facility Strategy and Operations (FSO) practice. Between 1993 and 2006, was a key contributor to the growth from six consulting professionals to over 110 architects, engineers, planners and facility managers at its peak. Was instrumental in growing the business from a little over $IM to over $35M year over year. Over a 15 year period, was promoted from Consultant to Senior Consultant, to Associate, and to Senior Associate, and participated in every aspect of the business; capability development, practice development, business development and marketing, project and program management, recruiting and team development, vendor management and strategic alliance partnership development, training development, technology development, and financial management.

What they like about Booz Allen Hamilton:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
