This included spoken and written language needed in health care environment. • Interpreted 35+ specialties from bariatric, cardiology, catheterizations, endocrinology, ENT, ER, gastroenterology, genetics, gynecology, ICU, maternity, mammography, neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, pain management, physical therapy, pulmonary, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, radiology, interventional radiology, rheumatology, surgery, consent forms for anesthesia and surgery, and much more. • Provided accurate, objective interpretations from one language into another for patients and staff to facilitate access to comprehensive health care. This required the use of the conduit role, clarifier and cultural broker role. • Received, understood and analyzed spoken messages from the sender and re-expressed those messages respecting the cultural and social context of all involved parties. • The information relayed as an interpreter followed mandates and policies of the Temple University Health System, relaying all information according to a professional medical interpreter code of ethics, respecting confidential matters. • Complied with departmental policies and procedures. • Collected, documented and tracked all interpretation services.
