Daily Duties at Ar Qule, Inc.:
Providing scientific and management leadership for ArQule’s discovery biochemistry and biology. Key contributor in selection of molecular targets for prosecution in the oncology arena and managing of interface with chemistry and downstream functions. Co-developer of novel structure-based kinase inhibitor platform to rapidly develop novel and potent inhibitors for a variety of oncology kinase targets. Provide support to manage growing number of external collaborations. Played key role in business development discussions that led to strategic partnerships with both Kyowa Hakko Kirin and Daiichi-Sankyo involving tivantinib (ARQ 197), a novel anti-cancer drug candidate entering Phase III as well as four undisclosed targets employing ArQule’s proprietary kinase inhibitor platform. Primary discovery contributor to IND for ARQ 621, a novel Eg5 inhibitor advanced to Phase I trials. Program originator and co-inventor of a RAF kinase inhibitor, ARQ 736, currently in Phase I trials. Established and chaired Molecular Medicine Working Group to strengthen translational medicine research. Established robust biological platform to assess combinability of proprietary compounds with standard-of-care agents to inform clinical trial design.
