Daily Duties at Shaw Industries:

• Responsible for extensive quality control and procedure planning/implementation for this major national manufacturer of carpet and floor coverings sold worldwide. • Researched and wrote work instructions, as well as detailed quality manuals for the plant. • Supervised the Quality Assurance department; ensured their involvement to improve daily operations. • Planned and conducted staff and management training, support and weekly staff meetings on the latest quality procedures, internal audits, corrective actions, and other key activities to maintain certification and a successful quality system. • Composes correspondence, and compiles information for reports, budget justifications, special projects and studies; prepares manuals on office procedures and instructs clerical staff in their use. • Constantly observed and documented worker's activities; provided input at team meetings to analyze results and create more effective, streamlined procedures. • Planned top level presentations for management, as well as weekly meetings with inspectors to prevent defects and quickly deal with complaints from customers. • Member of the Processing Committee; selected committee members and determined all procedures; chose motivational items and awards for staff. • Issued corrective actions to department managers and followed up on results.
