Daily Duties at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc.:

Team Leader managing, through the syndication process, the structuring, marketing, and execution of syndicated loan transactions for private middle market clients in the Bank's Commercial Real Estate Bank. Primary coverage responsibility was the West Division as well as the Homebuilding Division. Job Responsibilities included: * Personally drive all strategic and tactical aspects of the management of the team in conjunction with direction of the Group Head; * Develop and maintain client relationships; * Develop and maintain investor relationships; * Participate in Division and Regional Office Meetings to update product partners on current deal flow, market trends, investor trends, and performance of unit; * Initiated quarterly conference calls with each Division's client management team and risk management partners to monitor performance of the syndicated portfolio and be proactive in dealing with any concerns; * Conduct market research through interactions with clients, investors and client management team; * Interface with client management team and risk management to determine deal structure for proposed transactions; * Negotiate financial terms and loan documents with client, client management team, and investors; * Host bank group meetings/conference calls, * Interface with third parties throughout the closing process; * Coordinate closings with client, client managment team, investors and attorneys; * Produce team fee and pipeline reports; * Maintain team's deal reporting system; * Supervised performance of direct reports through reviewing written work, timeliness of responses and delivery of an accurate product. Responsible for monitoring workflows to maximize associate resources; * Created semi-annual performance reports for each junior associate and submitted to group head for required reviews; * Audited REIT transactions with Corporate Real Estate Team.
